Spider Pops: Very cute. Very sweet. Very cheap.
You will need:
- A bag of Tootsie Pops or any lollipop you like (tootsies are my favs)
- A bag of black chenille stems (pipe cleaners)
- Googly eyes
- Glue
- Take four chenille stems and hold them in an even bundle. Wrap the bundle once around the base of one pop.
- Spread the stems out to form legs.
- Bend the tip of each leg to form spidey feet.
- Bend each leg again in the middle to form spider knees.
- Glue on the googly eyes using a cool temp glue gun or tacky glue.
These make great treats as well as great halloween party decorations. Everyone can take one home. Get creative and make them in all different colors.

Mini Pumpkin Candles: These are great cheap Halloween decorations whether you turn them into candles or just arrange them around your other goodies.
You will need:
- Some mini pumpkins or gourds
- Simple candles. I used emergency candles that were 6/$1 at the Dollar Store.
- A sharp knife
Mini pumpkins are great for this because they have flat bottoms so they sit firmly. If you use gourds or mini squash make sure they are stable on their bottoms.
- Carefully carve away the stem and make a hole that your candle can fit in snuggly.
- Push the candle into the hole. That's all there is to it. If you need to you can melt a bit of wax into the hole then set the candle in that.
These candles make a great addition to your cheap Halloween decorations and can be used inside or out.

Egg Carton Bats: A great way to recycle egg cartons.
You will need:
- Egg cartons cut into sections of 3 egg cups each (the middle egg cup is the bats body)
- Sharp scissors
- Black paint
- Googly eyes
- Fishing line if you want to hang your bats
- Using one section of the egg carton, flip it over so the bottom is now the top. Poke two small holes side by side in the top of the middle egg cup. This is to thread the fishing wire for hanging.
- Trim the two outer cups to look like bat wings.
- Paint the whole thing black. Don't forget the underside as well.
- Embellish these cheap Halloween decorations however you'd like or just leave the bats black. Sometimes I like to add Glitter Crystal
to some of them. It makes the bats sparkle in the moonlight!
- Add googly eyes, or for a more sinister look, add spooky eyes with white paint or marker, then hang these ecofriendly creations wherever you'd like.

Egg Carton Spiders: These little spiders look great spread throughout the house.
You will need:
- Egg Cartons
- Chenille Stems - 4 for each spider
- Black Paint
- Googly Eyes
- One egg cup will make one spider so cut away as many egg cups from the carton as you will need. Trim around the edge and flip over so the cup lays flat and even. Now the bottom of the egg cup is the top of your spider.
- Paint the cup black inside and out.
- Once the paint is dry poke 4 holes evenly apart on one side of the spiders body along the bottom edge. Do the same on the other side lining the holes up with the first set. The easiest way to do this is to use a thin knitting needle or wooden skewer and poke through from one side to the other. But the holes don't have to be perfect so however you can manage it is fine.
- Each spider takes four chenille stems for legs. Taking one stem at a time, poke each stem through one of the holes along the bottom of your spider across to the opposite hole. Do this with all four stems. Your spider should then have eight legs.
- Bend each leg in the middle to make your spider stand.
- Glue on some googly eyes and set your new spider free to roam around the house.

Shrunken Heads: Very cheap Halloween decorations, and very creepy too.
You will need:
- Large Apples
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 2 tsp salt
- Vegetable Peeler and/or a Paring Knife
- Some Cloves and Rice Grains are optional
- Peel an apple then brush with a mixture of lemon juice and salt. This will keep your apple from getting brown.
- Carve facial features into the apple. They don't have to be too detailed or perfect. Eye sockets, a mouth, maybe brows and a nose. You can put cloves in the eyes or rice in the mouth for teeth it you like.
- Set your apples in a warm dry place to dry for about two weeks. Once they're dry you can add other embellishments if you like.

Glow Ghosts: A great Halloween decoration for your yard on Halloween night.
You will need:
- White Balloons
- Glow Sticks - 4 inch
- Cheese Cloth- about 1 yard per ghost
- A Black or Dark permanent marker
- Activate a glow stick and put it inside a balloon.
- Blow up the balloon and tie a knot. With the knot at the top, draw some spooky eyes on the balloon.
- Cover the balloon with cheese cloth. Poke a hole in the cheese cloth and pull the knot through. Tie off some fishing line to hang wherever you'd like to have ghosts.
These ghosts look great hanging from the trees on a breezy night.
