Sweet Cinnamon Toast

Sweet Cinnamon Toast is one of my kids favorite breakfasts, and by far the easiest thing for me to give them on mornings when we're running a little late and they need to eat their breakfast in our minivan on the way to school. (I'm sure most moms can relate.)

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices Whole Wheat Bread per person
  • Butter
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
Preheat oven to 350
  1. Spread each slice of bread with butter all the way out the edges. (Whole Wheat / Whole Grain breads have much higher fiber content than "regular" bread so they keep your children feeling full longer and give them the energy they need in school until lunch time.)

  2. Sprinkle each slice with sugar and cinnamon at your discretion.

  3. Bake anywhere from 3-6 minutes depending on how crunchy everyone likes their toast.

This is also totally delicious on multi-grain english muffins.

If you find yourself making this often save an empty shaker bottle and fill with a mix of 1/2 sugar 1/2 cinnamon. Now you have it ready to shake over whatever baked good you have on hand whenever you need a quick breakfast on the go.
