Totally EAT-ible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Recipe

This Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Recipe lacks eggs, so you can eat it raw. Hence it's name, Totally EAT-ible, courtesy of my 6 year old.

I've never been a big fan of eating raw dough, but when my daughter brought home this recipe I said we'd give it a try. You know what? It was really good. Since it has no eggs, it's much safer to eat raw than regular cookie dough. Even if you bake it, which we did for some of it, it still makes a yummy, crispy cookie.

The kids helped mix the ingredients, then - with very clean hands- they shaped it and "played" with it as they ate it.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 4 to 6 Tbsp. water

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl.
  2. Stir in the flour, salt, vanilla and chips.
  3. Add the water, one tablespoon at a time, until you have reached a cookie dough consistency.

This recipe makes about 2 cups of edible dough.
