Disney World Magic KingdomHome >> Disney Family Vacations >> Disney World Magic Kingdom Disney's Magic Kingdom park is "the Worlds" most well known and popular park. Although Disney World is now made up of four distinct theme parks with additional water parks and entertainment venues, the Disney World Magic Kingdom theme park is the absolute "must see" if you're:
The "Kingdom" is divided into 7 separate and distinct "lands" placed in a circle, like a wheel, with Cinderella's Castle as the center hub.
As you arrive at the Disney World Magic Kingdom theme park you cross under the Walt Disney World Railroad and find yourself back in time on Main Street USA. You'll encounter Victorian era sites and sounds; an array of boutiques, an art gallery and sweets shops. You'll also experience Streetmosphere; Disney cast members dressed in period costumes interacting with guests. Main Street leads you right up to Cinderella's castle where most visitors stop to "Ooh" and "Ahh". Yes. You will "Ooh" and "Ahh". This is also the point where you will swear to your little girls that Cinderella really does live in that castle...because of course...she does. As you make your way around Disney Magic Kingdom to the right of the castle you'll find Tomorrowland, home of the famous Space Mountain indoor roller coaster; the very popular Indy Speedway; Walt Disney's classic Carousel of Progress; and the brand new Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Next you'll stroll to Mickey's Toontown Fair. Fun. Fun. Fun for your little ones. Here they can visit Mickey's house or raid Minnie's fridge in her quaint little country home complete with backyard garden. Parents can take a breather and watch their kids have a blast playing on Donald's Boat; a very cool water play area.
Before you leave this land don't forget to visit the Toontown Hall of Fame where you can actually meet some famous Disney characters-- maybe even Cinderella herself. Don't bypass the Judge's Tent where your little ones, and you, can have face time with the man ( I mean mouse) himself....Mickey! Definitely break out your cameras on this one. Disney World Magic Kingdom theme park also has SpectroMagic, the most amazing electric parade you'll ever see, and Wishes, the nightly fireworks extravaganza that's worth keeping the kids up for.
Fantasyland is where all the real magic happens. This land is home to some of the most famous and classic rides such as, It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Flight, and Snow White's Scary Adventure. This is also where you'll find Ariel's Grotto, the famous Mad Tea Party (teacup ride), and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Cinderella's Golden Carousel spins just outside of Pooh's Playful Spot, where you might get lucky and actually meet Pooh and some of his friends. Liberty Square will give you healthy dose of patriotism as you visit the Hall of President's, then a healthy dose of fright if you're brave enough to visit the Haunted Mansion. Warning: The special effects on this attraction are really good (the nightmare making kind) so I wouldn't recommend it for really little kids...or else you'll be paying for their therapy later. :) In Frontierland you have to at least see, if not ride, Splash Mountain, the best soaking flume ride ever! Right next to it is the third of the Magic Kingdom "mountain" rides, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a runaway train coaster with a surprise at every turn. This is our favorite of the three "mountains" at the Magic Kingdom theme park. Spoiler Alert!! Here's a Sneak Peek at Big Thunder Mountain RR While in this land, if you happen to hear "Woody's Roundup" boom through the loudspeakers stand your ground and keep your eyes peeled for some of the favorite characters from the movie "Toy Story". Adventureland is my personal favorite. I love the look and feel of this land. This is where you can enter the world of Captain Jack Sparrow and ride Pirates of the Caribbean. This boat ride will take your breath away. Once you're in daylight again, if you're able to escape the pirate's caverns, you can ride The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, take a Jungle Cruise, or visit the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. Adventureland is also where you'll find the Dole Whip vendor. A pineapple frozen custard to die for. Total YUM!These are just a few of the exciting attractions you'll find in the Disney World Magic Kingdom theme park. In addition there are snack vendors, restaurants, shopping, parades and seemingly spontaneous events that happen all throughout the park.
