These days, in order to make grocery budgets stretch, cheap recipes for frugal meals are a necessity.

Not only frugal, but healthy family meals. I've found this to be a bit of a challenge in a difficult economy.

This is an ever-growing collection of frugal recipes you can make in no time; a lot of them made from things already in your pantry.

I've taken some family favorites and tweaked them to be more wallet and kid-friendly.

There are also some classic picnic recipes and easy snacks for after school or any time. This list is a work in progress so we'd love to add your favorite frugal meals to the mix too.

My kids always eat better when they've helped prepare the meal.

We also have a lot of good conversations and a lot of laughs around our kitchen table, either while making these frugal meals, or eating them.

I've also found that a great way to introduce my kids to new flavors, and seasonings is to let them add those ingredients themselves.

If they helped cook it, they want to eat it.

So stay within your budget, and tame finicky eaters by letting them help in the kitchen with a few of these frugal fun recipes.

Frugal Meals

Scratch baking isn't high on my list of favorite things to do. So along with wanting budget-friendly recipes, when it comes to sweets and treats, they need to be easy, easy, easy recipes.

These Sweet Eats are the ones that work for us whenever we want something homemade or "sort of" homemade -- Like combining boxed cake mix or other prepared foods with scratch ingredients.
