Adding lime, or orange juice gives this fresh lemonade recipe a great flavor twist. You can also add a splash of cranberry juice to make Pink Lemon Twist. Get the most juice out of your lemons by checking out my lemonade tips and techniques before you get started.

To make Lemon Twist Lemonade you will need:

  • 6 large lemons; or 5 lemons and 2 limes; or 5 large lemons and 1/4 cup of orange juice. Adjust all the citrus to taste.

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 6 cups of cold water

1. Work with the lemons and limes if you're using them, at room temperature and roll them a few times on a hard surface making them easier to juice. Cut in half then squeeze out the juice with a reamer straining through a sieve if you don't want any pulp in your lemonade.

2. You should end up with approximately 1 cup of juice. Combine the lemon juice, sugar and water in a glass pitcher and stir until all the sugar dissolves. Add more or less sugar according to taste.

3. Chill well before serving.

These instructions for how to make lemonade are super simple and something your kids could easily make and sell at their summertime lemonade stand.
