HA!HA!

At the risk of sounding "old", I first saw this slumber party game played on The Brady Bunch TV show.

We did it at my own party when I as a kid and as corny as it seemed, it did make us all crack up.

You will need:

  • A group of girls in PJ's and slippers.
  1. Have the first person lie on the floor. The next person lies with their head on the first persons stomach.
  2. Everyone does this until the last person ends up with the first person's head on their stomach. It will be a big crooked circle of kids.
  3. The first person then shouts "HA!", the next shouts "HA, HA!", then the third, "HA, HA, HA!", and so on.
  4. It shouldn't take long after that for the HA's to break out into hysterical giggling around the room.

One Minute Words

You Will Need:

  • Pen and Paper for everyone
  • A kitchen timer (Or some way to time out 60 seconds)
  1. Use scrabble letters or write each letter of the alphabet on a slip of paper and toss them in a hat.
  2. Someone pulls a letter from the hat and announces it to the group and immediately starts the clock.
  3. Everyone has to write as many words as they can in 60 seconds starting with the letter that was pulled.

To make it more challenging include some letter blends like ch, sl, tr -- So if "ch" is pulled guests have to come up with words like "chain, chair, chase"....and so on.

Give a small prize after each round. Or give a prize to whoever comes up with the most words after two or three rounds.

Sardines

This slumber party game is simply reverse hide and seek.
  1. Have one player hide.
  2. Everyone else counts to 100 then goes to seek.
  3. As each player finds the first player they squeeze into the same hiding place until the last players finds everyone. The last player gets to go first on the next round.

Race to 100

You will need:
  • One Die
  • One Pencil
  • A piece of paper for everyone

This slumber party game works best if players can sit around a table.

  • Each player takes turns rolling the die. The first player rolls until she rolls a six. Once a six is rolled that player starts writing numbers on her paper from 1 to 100, writing out each number "1, 2, 3, 4...."
  • The die goes around the table with everyone taking a roll until someone else rolls a six.
  • That person now take the pencil and starts writing her list of numbers as the die continues around the table.
  • As long as a player has the pencil she keeps writing until someone else rolls a six and takes it.
  • The first person to get to 100 wins.

    Marshmallow Toss

    You will need:
    • Two mugs for each player
    • Bags of mini marshmallows
    1. Take one mug for each player and line them up on one side of the room.
    2. Fill the other mug with marshmallows.

    3. Give each player a mug full of marshmallows and have them stand about 5-6 feet away from their empty mug. Mark a line with tape to make sure no one steps over.
    4. On "go" everyone starts tossing marshmallows and tries to get as many into their mug as they can in 3 minutes.

This is even more fun if you do it to music.

    Musical Toes

    You will need:
    • Bottles of nail polish - about 3 or 4 fewer than there are girls. Ex: For 6 girls use 3 or 4 bottles of polish
    • Music you can start and stop.
    1. Everyone sit in a circle and hand out polish so that it's staggered around.
    2. When the music starts the polish gets passed around the circle. No one can hang onto a bottle. They have to keep moving.
    3. When the music stops any girl with polish in her hand must paint one toe with that color, but she better hurry because as soon as the music starts the polish has to start moving around the circle again.
    4. The first girl with all ten toes polished is the winner.
Use polishes in chrome or neon colors and add in a bottle or two with sparkles to keep the pedicures lively. The winner of this slumber party game gets to keep the bottles of polish.

    Zombie Gift Wrapper

    You will need:
    • Shoeboxes, or any empty boxes
    • Wrapping paper
    • Scotch tape
    • Ribbon and a bow
    1. Divide the group into teams of two.
    2. Team mates stand side by side and have their wrists tied together. One right to others left.
    3. Each team should have a box with a pre-cut piece of wrapping paper big enough to cover the box, a ribbon, a bow and a roll of tape.
    4. On "Go" each team has to attempt to wrap their package using only their free hands. It must be wrapped in the paper and ribbon and have the bow attached. The first team to have a completely wrapped package wins.
To make this super fair make sure you use the same size box for each team. Sometimes thats hard to do, and using different size boxes can make it more fun. For older kids you can require that they actually tie a bow. For younger ones use the premade with the "peel and stick" backs.

    Would You Rather

This is a great slumber party game for getting to know everyone better.

    You will need:

    • A pillowcase full of "Would You Rather..." questions

    1. Before the party create a bunch of "Would you rather" questions.... Print our list. Make up your own, or use a combination to make it even more fun! Cut and fold each question.
    2. Everyone sits in a circle and one at a time have the girls pick a question from the pillow case. Fold them up so they can't see the question.
    3. Once a player picks a question she can answer it, then either go around the circle and have everyone give their answer to that question, or have each girl answer just the question she picks from the case. More than likely everyone will chime in their own thoughts to each question regardless of which way you decide to play.
    4. This game sparks lots of interesting chatter.
