St Patricks Day Games
St Patty's Day parties may not happen everywhere but these St Patricks Day Games will come in handy if your family or classroom celebrates this lucky holiday.

Pot of Gold Toss A very simple game that can be played by Preschoolers or High Schoolers. Just make the bigger kids stand farther back from the pot to play.
You will need: - Cardboard box or Plastic tub
- Gold Spray Paint
- Gold coins, either the plastic toy type or the yummy chocolate type.
This game is simple but a lot of fun when you raise the stakes. :) Offer an actual golden dollar or bags of chocolate coins to the winner. The rules are easy. Every player gets three coins. They stand at the toss line (put a strip of masking tape on the floor that can not be crossed). The player that gets the most coins on the pot wins. If more than one player gets three coins in, have "toss offs" until you've narrowed it down to one winner.

End of the Rainbow Treasure Hunt Add an Irish twist to a simple scavenger hunt.
You Will Need: - Multi colored construction paper.
- A bag of chocolate gold coins
Make a rainbow out of the construction paper. Attach the rainbow to the chocolate and hide the whole thing. Make up a simple scavenger hunt leading players from clue to clue until they finally find the gold at the end of the rainbow. You can split your group into teams and have a rainbow for each. Make sure each rainbow has enough "gold" for everyone on the team.

Hot Blarney Stone Give traditional Hot Potato an Irish twist by using a regular old "blarney" stone and some Irish music.
You will need:- A decent sized rock. Big enough for small hands to handle and pass around the circle.
- Music you can start and stop
Have players sit on the floor in a circle and start the music. They pass the blarney stone around the circle until the music stops. The player holding the stone when the music stops is out. Keep this up until only one player is left.

Pin the Stem on the Shamrock Easiest St Patricks Day Game of all to create. You will need: - White poster board
- Green construction paper
Using the green construction paper draw three big shamrock leaves and glue them onto the poster board in the shamrock shape. Using the same green paper cut out enough shamrock stems for every player and write their names on them. Roll a small piece of tape and attach to the back of each stem. One at a time, blindfold each player, spin, then let them take a turn at "pinning" in the stem to the shamrock. The player that gets their stem closest to the right spot wins.

Fools Gold Hunt You will need: - Lots of small rocks. (Dollar Tree sells bags of river rocks if you don't have a yard or a park nearby)
- A can of gold spray paint
A couple days before the party spread the rocks out on cardboard or newspaper, preferably outside, and spray paint them all gold. They don't have to be perfect. The dry stones are now "fools gold". Hide the fools gold all around and have guests search. You can give clues or just send them out looking. They can collect their gold in their leprechaun hats. The player who comes back with the heaviest hat wins.
